~ DOWNTOWN MEDICAL FACILITY: ~
Increased the number of handicapped parking spaces and placed them closer to the front entrance. The handicapped parking was across the street and very far from the main entrance. It was identified that the loading zone and visitor parking occupied several spaces much closer to the front entrance. The property manager agreed to reduce the loading zone, and convert some of the loading zone and visitor spaces to handicapped spaces.
~ LOCAL BUSINESS EMPLOYEES: ~
Added two new handicapped parking spaces to accommodate employees that were disabled. It was identified that a place of business had only two handicapped parking spaces nearby, while there were three disabled employees using that entrance. Although the entire business property was compliant with parking requirements throughout, the property manager willingly added two more parking spaces to accommodate the employees using that specific entrance.
~ NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION: ~
Added two new handicapped parking spaces to an old building in the downtown area. It was identified that there were no handicapped parking spaces at or near the front entrance, and there was one handicapped space at the back of a building, that was not visible and was near a door that wasn't utilized. The property manager willingly added two parking spaces to the front entrance to benefit clients and visitors.
~ MEDICAL EQUIPMENT: ~
Convinced a local insurance carrier and equipment company of the need to provide specific portable oxygen, when the provided equipment was not sufficient for an individual to work and be active on a daily basis. This has substantially improved the individual's portability and quality of life and much less confined to the home.
